Welcome to Sheets Portal support. Whether you're setting up your first portal or scaling to hundreds of clients, we're here to help you get the most out of the platform.
1. Getting Started
Signing up. Click "Open App" in the navigation bar and sign in with your Google account. We request minimal permissions — only access to files and sheets created by Sheets Portal.
Creating your first workspace. After signing in, you'll be prompted to create a workspace. Choose a unique slug (this becomes your workspace URL). The workspace is your central hub for managing clients, requests, and files.
Adding clients. From your dashboard, click "Clients" then "Add Client." Enter their name, email, company, and any notes. Each client gets their own isolated portal with a unique magic link for secure access.
Sending portal access. Once a client is created, you can generate a magic link from their profile. Share the link via email or your preferred channel. Clients click the link to access their portal — no passwords needed.
2. Managing Portals
Request tracking. Clients can submit requests from their portal. You can update the status (pending → in review → in progress → completed) and set priority levels. Every status change is logged and optionally emailed to the client.
File sharing. Upload files to a client's portal and they appear in both the portal and your Google Drive. Clients can also upload files from their side. All files are organized by client in Drive.
Comments. Use threaded comments on each request to communicate with clients. Both admins and guests can participate. Comments are timestamped and included in your activity feed.
Portal branding (Pro+). On Pro and Business plans, you can add a client logo and brand color to each portal for a white-labeled experience.
Team collaboration (Pro+). Invite team members to your workspace with admin or editor roles. Manage permissions from Workspace Settings → Members.
3. Google Sheets & Drive
How the sync works. Sheets Portal writes all request data, comments, and activity into a Google Sheet linked to each client. You can open the sheet anytime from the client's portal page.
Creating a sheet. From a client's portal, click "Create Google Sheet." The sheet is created in your Drive with three tabs: Requests, Comments, and Activity.
Syncing data. Click "Sync to Sheet" to push the latest data from Sheets Portal to your Google Sheet. This overwrites the existing data in the sheet with the current state.
File storage. All uploaded files go to a dedicated folder in your Google Drive, organized by client. You can browse the folder structure directly from the portal or from Drive.
Revoking access. You can revoke Sheets Portal's access to your Google account at any time from your Google Account permissions page. Note that this will prevent the Service from functioning until re-authorized.
4. Billing & Plans
Plan comparison. We offer Freemium (free), Pro, Business, and Enterprise tiers. See the pricing section on our homepage for a detailed comparison.
Upgrading. Go to Settings → Billing in the app to upgrade your plan. Payments are processed securely through Lemon Squeezy. You'll receive an email receipt for every payment.
Managing your subscription. From the Billing page, you can view your current plan, payment history, update your payment method, or cancel your subscription.
Cancellation. You can cancel anytime from the Billing page. Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are issued except where required by law.
Billing questions. For billing inquiries, receipt requests, or plan changes, email us at admin@sheetsportal.com.
5. Troubleshooting
Can't sign in. Make sure you're using the same Google account you originally signed up with. If you see a "workspace not found" error, check that you're using the correct workspace URL. Try clearing your browser cache or using an incognito window.
Client can't access their portal. Magic links expire after 48 hours. Generate a new magic link from the client's profile and share it again. Ensure the client's email matches the one on file.
Files not appearing in Drive. Check that Sheets Portal still has Drive access in your Google Account permissions. If access was revoked, sign out and sign back in to re-authorize.
Sheet sync not working. Ensure the linked Google Sheet still exists in your Drive (it may have been moved or deleted). Try unlinking and re-creating the sheet from the client's portal page.
Email notifications not arriving. Check your spam folder. Add noreply@sheetsportal.com to your contacts. If the issue persists, contact support.
Slow performance. Large workspaces with many clients may experience slower load times. Try reducing the number of clients displayed per page using the pagination controls.
